The bite is on at Sportsman’s Lodge! And we’re excited to be out on the ice.

The houses are close so it’s a short ride before you’re dropping a line. Ice thickness is about 13-`16” and will continue to thicken as cold temps are scheduled for next week. The hot baits seem to be both jigs and spoons with bright colors like pink/white, yellow/orange, and disco ball gold. A little noise will help draw fish in so try a rattling spoon like a red/black buckshot.

Although the walleye bite is hot, we’re catching eel pout and occasional sturgeon which make for an exciting day. We’re catching most fish in about 20-23’ of water with the bait about a foot from the bottom.

This early bite is a great time to catch good numbers of fish so if you’re itching to get a line wet, give us a call – 800-862-8602.
