Getting to Lake of the Woods is easier than you might think — whether you’re driving or flying, we’ll help you get here smoothly so you can focus on the fishing and fun.
From the Twin Cities (Minneapolis–St. Paul):
• Approximately 6–6.5 hours by car
• Take I-35 North to US-2 East
• Continue on US-2 through Bemidji to Baudette
• Follow local signage to your destination
From Fargo, ND:
• Approximately 4.5 hours
• Take US-75 North or MN-11 East toward Baudette
Roads are well-maintained year-round, and winter travel is common for ice fishing guests. We always recommend checking road conditions during winter months.
Flying is a convenient option for guests traveling from a distance, with multiple airport choices depending on your schedule and location.
Located just minutes from both Border View Lodge, Baudette offers the quickest arrival option. Commercial flights are available through Denver Air Connection, connecting to major hubs.

Falls International Airport (INL) – International Falls, MN
Approximately 1.5 hours from the resorts, International Falls offers additional commercial flight options. Rental cars are available for the drive to Lake of the Woods.
Bemidji Regional Airport (BJI)
Located about 2 hours from the resorts, Bemidji provides frequent commercial flights and easy car rental access. This is a popular option for guests who prefer more flight choices and flexible schedules.
If you choose to fly into International Falls or Bemidji, we recommend renting a vehicle for the drive to Baudette. Our team is happy to help with directions and travel planning.
